ATestCallfeatureisavailableforthepurposesoftestingyourDSCVHFradioforcorrectoperation.
Thereare2typesoftestcall:
•TestcalltotheUSCoastGuardautomatedresponsetestcallservice(MMSI:003669999).This
typeoftestcallwillreceiveanautomatedresponse(acknowledgement).
•Testcalltoanothervesselthathasaradiothatsupportsthetestcallfeature.Yourradiowill
automaticallyacknowledgetestcallsreceivedfromotherradios.
ForradiosthatdoNOTsupportthetestcallfeature,correctradiooperationcanbetestedbymaking
anIndividualcallonchannel70toanotherDSCVHFradio.
Itisrecommendedthatonceyou'vesuccessfullyplacedatestcallyouaddthetestcallMMSItoyour
radio'sPhonebookforeasyretrievalforfuturetestcalls.ForinformationonhowtoaddanMMSIto
yourradio'sPhonebook,refertothe“AddingaPhonebookentry”section.

EnterMMSItomanuallyentertheMMSInumberofthestationyouwanttosendatestcall.
4.SelectacontactorenteranMMSImanuallyandpressthe OKbutton.
Thetestcallissent.
5.IfyoucalledtheUSCoastGuardautomatedresponsetestcallMMSI(003669999),waitforan
acknowledgement.Ifyoumadeatestcalltoanothervesselwithatestcallcapableradio
,your
radiowillwaitforaresponse.
Whenanacknowledgementisreceived,anaudiblealarmissoundedandthemessage(envelope)
