xternalequipmentarenotentangledwiththepowerordata
cablesforthesedevices.
•ConsiderfittingoneormorehighfrequencysuppressionferritestotheEMI-emittingdevice.The
ferrite(s)shouldberatedtobeeffectiveintherange100MHzto2.5GHz,andshouldbefitted
tothepowercableandanyothercablesexitingtheEMI-emittingdevice,ascloseaspossibleto
thepositionwherethecableexitsthedevice.
Compasssafedistance
Whenchoosingasuitablelocationforyourproductyoushouldaimtomaintainthemaximumpossible
distancebetweentheproductandanyinstalledcompass.Thisdistanceshouldbeatleast1m(3ft)in
alldirections.Forsmallervesselsitmaynotbepossibletoachievethisdistance.Inthissituation
ensurethatthecompassisnotaffectedbytheproductwhenitispoweredon.

Inadditiontogeneralguidelinesconcerningthelocationofmarineelectronics,thereareanumberof
environmentalfactorstoconsiderwheninstallingequipmentwithaninternalGNSSreceiver.

appropriatewaterproofrating.)
•BelowDecks(e.g.enclosedspace)mounting:Performancemaybelesseffectiveandmayrequire
anexternalantennaorreceivermountedabovedecks.
