BeforecommencinginstallationensureyouhaveobtainedanMMSInumberforyourvessel.
AnMMSIisa9digitnumberwhichissentoveraradiofrequencychannelinordertoidentifythe
originatingvessel/station.IfyourvesselalreadyhasanMMSInumber(usedforaVHFDSCradio)
thenthesameMMSInumbermustbeusedtoprogramyourproduct.
Note:
IfanMMSInumberisnotentered,theDSCfunctionalityofyourradiowillbedisabled.
IntheUnitedS tatesofAmerica,theMMSIandStaticDatamustbeenteredonlybyaRaymarine®
dealerorotherappropriatelyqualifiedinstallerofmarinecommunicationsequipmentonboard
vessels.
TheuserisNOTauthorizedtodothis.
Insomeareas,aradiooperatorlicenceisrequiredbeforeanMMSInumberwillbeissued.Y oucan
requestanMMSInumberfromsameagencythatissuesradioorShipRadiolicencesinyourarea.
