radiosautomaticallyswitchtothechosenchannelforconversation.
RoutinecallscanalsobemadetogroupsWhengroupsofshipsneedthesameinformation(yacht
races,clubralliesetc.)aspecialgroup-callidentitycanbeusedtoenablerestrictedbroadcastcalls.

WhenmakingaDistresscallyoucanspecifythenatureofthedistress,ifGNSS(GPS)dataisnot
availableyoumustalsospecifyyourcoordinates.

1.Selectadistresstypefromthelist.
IfyourradioisreceivingavalidGNSS(GPS)positionthenthedistresstypeandcoordinates
aredisplayedon-screen,otherwiseyouwillbepromptedtoenteryourpositioncoordinates
manually

2.Ifprompted,enteryourpositioncoordinatesandlocaltimeusingthe ChannelUpand Channel
Downbuttonstoentertherelevantdetails.
3.Whencompletepressthe OKbutton.
4.Followthestepsfor
‘MakingaDistressCall’
totransmitthedistress.

Inanemergencyyoucanmak
eanautomaticDSCdistresscall.
The DISTRESSbuttonislocatedontherearofthehandset.
1.Openthe DISTRESSbutton’scoverandthenpressandholdthe DISTRESSbuttonfor3seconds.
