Y ourradiorequiresaVHFantennatofunctionasaradio.Ifyouintendtousetheradio’sinternal
GNSS(GPS)receiverthenyouwillalsorequireaGNSS(GPS)passiveantennatobeconnected.The
antennaconnectionscanbeprotectedsothattheycannotcomeintocontactwithanygrounded
baremetal.Thisisespeciallyimportantwheninstallingtheradioonmetalstructure.
Pre-requisites:
•Ensureyouhaveinstalledyourantennasinaccordancewiththeinstructionssuppliedwiththe
antennas.
•EnsurethecableshavebeenproperlyroutedtotheBasestationandthatsufficientcablelengthis
availabletomaketheconnections.

•WhenmountingtheBasestationonmetalstructure
,inordertopreventgalvaniccorrosion,
ensureALLstepsarefollowedsothattheantennasareisolatedfromthevessel’smetalwork.
