REA ScanCheck 3n
V 1.2.0 24/02/2020
REA VERIFIER
In its “general specifications”, GS1 Global has stipulated the requisite aperture sizes for all GS1
code types, which should be used for code testing GS1 codes
(the respective current version is available on the GS1 website).
The majority of specifications for the measuring aperture are dependent here on the respective
application, as listed in the various tables in chapter 5.10.3 of the GS1 specification.
The same tables are also used for the module size settings of the code type <code selection> in
the menus of the REA ScanCheck 3n (see chapter 5.6.1.3.1)
Source: Copy of table from version 19-1 of the GS1 general specifications, chap. 5.10.3
In a closed application, the measuring aperture can be determined by means of the optical aperture
of the bar code scanner that is used.
However, the measuring aperture used for code testing should always be smaller than or no more
than the same size as the scanner aperture.
