9 Troubleshooting
In certain circumstances, the meter may display an error message. A troubleshooting table fol-
lows that will help you when the meter is not performing as expected. Most concerns can be
resolved quickly by referring to this table for help.
Take the following steps when the meter displays an error message :
Find the displayed message or condition in the Troubleshooting Table.
Take the action suggested under the column headed Description/Solution.
If the problem persists, please contact your local customer support and service centre (see
page 81).
Error/Display Description/Solution
Error: Unknown
barcode
The barcode of test strips or code strips could not be read.
Solution
All strips: Remove the strip and check the barcode for soiling.
Code strips: Repeat the procedure with the code strip. Remem-
ber to insert the strip and remove it immediately.
Test strips: Repeat the procedure with a new strip.
Check whether there may be interference caused by electro-
magnetic fields in the vicinity of the meter. Move meter away
from such sources (e.g., X-ray equipment).
Error: Strip code does
not match stored code
The test strip belongs to a different test strip lot than the lot which
was last coded for this parameter.
Solution
Remove the strip. Repeat the test using a test strip from a lot
which matches the last lot coded into the meter for this
parameter.
Code the meter with the code strip corresponding to the test
strips being used.
