MODBUS PROTOCOL
2.1 OVERVIEW
The Model 2700 Solu Cube Analyzer with Modbus capability communicates as a slave device with a Modbus-compati-
ble host controller in a multidrop network. The Solu Cube hardware interface can be EIA485 non-isolated, EIA485 iso-
lated, or EIA232 isolated.
Serial mode: RTU
Baud rate: 300, 1200, 2400, or 9600
Parity: Odd, Even, or None
Solu Cube address: 01 to 32
Solu Cube supports the following Function Codes:
01 Read Coil Status
03 Read Holding Registers
04 Read Input Registers
For Function Codes 01, a maximum of 120 consecutive coils can be read at a given time. For Function Codes 03 and
04, the maximum is seven consecutive registers. Otherwise the Solu Cube will return the Exception Code “Illegal Data
Value”.
Solu Cube supports the following Exception Codes:
01 Illegal Function
02 Illegal Data Address
03 Illegal Data Value

- Number of Coils (Length) > 120
- Number of Holding or Input Registers (Length) > 7
