16. Troubleshooting
The following table shows fault symptoms and describes remedial measures in the event of your machine failing to
work properly. If you cannot localise and rectify the problem with this, please contact your service workshop.
Fault Possible cause Remedy
Untidy compaction pattern. Rammer foot worn out. Replace rammer foot.
Oil loss from the engine.
Worn seals, radial sealing rings. Contact specialist dealer.
Soil surface is too hard.
Compaction of the soil surface is not
possible.
Soil is too wet, the rammer foot
gets stuck.
Allow time to dry.
Thick layer of dirt on the rammer
foot.
Clean the rammer foot.
Engine runs but the tamper runs
irregularly
Broken parts in the tamping
system.
Contact specialist dealer.Broken or bad spring
Engine speed is set too high.
Clutch surface contaminated.
Clean oil and grease from the clutch
surface
Engine will not start
No fuel in the tank. Fill the tank up.
Fuel valve closed. Open the fuel valve.
Air lter dirty. Clean the air lter.
Engine switch is set to “OFF”. Set the engine switch to “ON”.
Recoil starter defective. Repair the recoil starter.
No engine oil. Rell the engine oil.
Spark plug dirty. Clean the spark plug
Engine starts but the tamper
does not move.
Centrifugal clutch defective. Replace the clutch.
Compacting pressure low.
Contact specialist dealer
Exhaust opening blocked
Engine gets too hot
Cooling ns and fan blades
contaminated.
Clean cooling ns and fan blades
