5.4.1 Storage and Transport
Avoid improper mechanical load of the device. The following points must especially be
taken into consideration:
▶ Never touch electronic components.
▶ Avoid stacking of unpacked devices during transport and storage.
▶ Sudden changes of the temperature must not exceed 0.5 °C/min.
The following climatic conditions apply to transport and storage. If required, appro-
priate measures must be taken to ensure these climatic conditions (installation of
heating/air conditioning systems etc.):
Environmental conditions Storage acc. to DIN EN
IEC 60721-3-1 in product
package (up to 6 months)
(1)
Transport acc. to DIN EN
IEC 60721-3-2 in shipping
package (over 6 months)
Climatic conditions Class 1K4 Class 2K3
Min. −25 °C −25 °C
Ambient temperature
(2)
Max. 55 °C 70 °C
Vibrations Class 1M2 Class 2M1
Chemically active substances Class 1C1 Class 2C1
Relative/absolute humidity Class 1K3 (5 %
RH to 85 % RH)
Class 2K3 (5 %
RH to 85 % RH)
Rain Not permissible Not permissible
Water (not rain) Not permissible Not permissible
Condensation, water spray and ice Not permissible
Salt spray Not permissible
Tab. 1: Environmental Conditions for Storage and Transport
(1)
The product package used by SIEB & MEYER does not comply with the standard of a shipping package.
In addition, it does not provide protection against water spray, ice and salt spray.
(2)
The limit values apply with the coolant removed.

Note
The maximum storage period is 2 years. Electrolytic capacitors produce high leakage
currents when a voltage is applied after a long storage period without applied voltage
and must be reformed. For this purpose, the operating voltage is applied via a 1 kΩ se-
ries resistor for one hour. Please contact the SIEB & MEYER service department for de-
tails.
5.4.2 Installation and Operation
NOTICE
Damage of electrostatically sensitive components due to improper handling
→ Never touch electronic components.
The following requirements are to be considered for the installation and the operation
of the device. Noncompliance with theses requirements is regarded as abnormal op-
erating condition:
Environmental conditions Operation acc. to DIN EN IEC 60721-3-3
Place of installation Switch cabinet installation, indoor, weath-
erprotected, without air conditioning
Climatic conditions Class 3K3
Temperature range 5 °C to 60 °C (100 % rated current up to max.
40 °C; at higher temperatures the rated cur-
rent must be reduced by 1.5 % per 1 C°.)
Humidity range 5 % RH to 85 % RH (non-condensing)
