7.3.5 Scalance switch System Events reporting
1. Navigate to Menu > System > Events > Configuration tab to specify how device reacts to the
system events.
2. Specify the Signaling Contact method is either:
a. Conventional - an Error/ Fault is displayed by the Fault LED and the signaling contact
is open; when the error is restored, the LED goes off and the signaling contact is closed.
b. User Defined the signaling contact state does not depend on the error/fault, instead it
can be open or closed as required by user actions.
c. Signaling Contact Status = Open or Close.
A fault causes the signaling contact in Scalance XC206-2SFP to trigger and the fault LED on the device to
light up, and depending on the configuration specified in System > Events, it can trigger a trap specified
in System > SNMP, an e-mail specified in System > SMTP Client, or entry in the Syslog specified in
System > Syslog Client, or an event logged on the Log Table, seen in the Information > Log Table.
Refer to Online Help for more information ~events_help_en.htm.
For the complete list of the events and configuration, refer to the Online Help ~ events_help_en.htm.
If Fault is enabled, when a device detects an error, the top left LED labeled F lights up.
