8. CONFIGURING THE SWITCH IN DESIGO CC/CERBERUS DMS
8.1 Initial Setup
Refer to Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS Getting Started, Document ID A6V11349526, for configuration with
Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS.
Refer to Industrial Ethernet Switches Scalance XC-200, P/N C79000-G8976-C442-11, for an introduction
to the Scalance XC206-2SFP switches.
8.2 Configuring SNMP Switch Monitoring
Each Scalance Switch must be monitored by a Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS Server or FEP via SNMP
(Simple Network Management Protocol). One Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS Server or FEP can monitor all
switches, or different Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS Servers or FEPs can monitor one or more switches each.
To configure SNMP on Desigo CC/Cerberus DMS for monitoring to the Scalance switch, refer to SNMP
Configuration Guidelines for Scalance Switches.
Once SNMP has been configured, to configure ring, fault, or sabotage event monitoring, refer to Industrial
Ethernet Switches Scalance XC-200, P/N C79000-G8976-C442-11.
