2.2 C Plug

The C-Plug (included in the Scalance kit) stores the switch configuration data. If the switch must be
replaced due to failure, transferring the C-Plug to the new switch allows the new switch to be brought
online with the correct settings.
The C-Plug must be installed on the Scalance switch. If the switch experiences a failure which
requires replacement, the C-Plug can be moved to the replacement switch. A plug may only be
removed or inserted when the power to the switch is removed.
When a new C-Plug is inserted to the switch, the configuration of the switch is automatically written
to the C-Plug, and all future changes are immediately written to the C-Plug. Upon replacement of
the switch, the C-Plug automatically restores the switch settings.
NOTE: If a C-Plug with an existing configuration is inserted into a different switch, the configuration
on the C-Plug will overwrite the existing switch configuration.
