Communication Troubleshooting
Generally
1. Check the following:
• There is power at the device
• The optional LCD is showing the relevant data
• The device can be programmed using the local push buttons.
• If any fault codes are being displayed, see “General Fault Codes” on page 233
for a detailed list.
2. Verify that the wiring connections are correct.
Specifically
1. The SITRANS LUT400 is set to communicate via a HART modem but no
communication is returning to the master.
• Check that the device address is set correctly for the HART network.
2. A SITRANS LUT400 parameter is set via remote communications, but the parameter
remains unchanged.
• Try setting the parameter from the local push buttons. If it can not be set using
the buttons, ensure

is set to the unlock value.
