Parking Brake Assembly Replacement
1. Park the tractor on a level surface.
2. Place blocks in front and behind the front wheels.
3. Turn the ignition key switch to the OFF position,
remove the key, set the parking brake, and turn the
PTO switch off.
4. Disconnect the negative (-) battery cable
(see Section 7, ELECTRICAL SYSTEM SERVICE).
5. Disconnect spark plug wires (gas engines only) to
prevent the possibility of accidental starting while the
parking brake is being adjusted.
6. Remove the knob (F, Figure 10) from the pivot rod
(H).
7. Remove the pivot rod (H) by rotating the rod clip (E)
off the pivot rod, then remove the rod from the pivot
bracket (D).
8. Remove the bracket by removing the capscrew (I),
spacer (J), washer (B), and hex nut (C) from the pivot
bracket (D). Remove the pivot bracket from the park-
ing brake rod (A).
9. Assemble in reverse order.
