Arbor Disassembly
1. Grip the blade adapter in a soft jaw vise. Remove
the capscrew securing the drive pulley to blade shaft.
2. Remove the capscrew, lock washer, heavy washer,
pulley and upper grass shield.
3. Remove the arbor from the vise. Using a small screw
driver remove the collar from the blade end of the
arbor shaft.
4 Remove the blade adapter, lower grass shield, and
shim washer from the blade end of the arbor shaft.
5. Using a pair of small screwdrivers, pry apart the
upper and lower arbor housings.
6. Remove the arbor shaft assembly from the lower
housing.
7. Support the inner race of the bearing. Insert a punch
down the center of the bolt hole and drive the shaft
out of the bearing using a hammer. Repeat with the
other bearing.
8. Remove the foam gasket.
9. Inspect the arbor shaft for damaged splines and dam-
age to the bearing race area. Replace if damaged. If
the bearings are not a press fit on the shaft, replace
the shaft.
