Important Note: If there is no current GNSS valid data when the distress alert is initiated,
the equipment shall display that it is waiting for a GNSS position for 15 s and as soon as a
x is obtained then the alert shall be transmitted. The waiting GPS screen will not appear
if there is already a valid GPS x.
1. Open the red cover labelled DISTRESS.
If time is available to specify the nature of the distress, go to step 2. Otherwise, go
directly to step 3.
2. Press and release the DISTRESS key to display the following categories. Press
/
keys to select the category that describes your situation:
• UNDEFINED (Undened)
• FIRE (Fire)
• FLOODING (Flooding)
• COLLISION (Collision)
• GROUNDING (Grounding)
• LISTING (Listing)
• SINKING (Sinking)
• ADRIFT (Adrift)
• ABANDONING (Abandoning)
• PIRACY (Piracy)
• OVER BOARD (Overboard)
