• The Search and Rescue (SAR) authorities of your country are the only instance
allowed to send a Distress Acknowledgement (DISTRESS ACK).
5. Press EXIT key to quit the current DSC receive process.
Note: The call data is stored in the Distress Log and location data (DSC & DSE) sentence is
sent on the NMEA 0183 port for indication on a connected chartplotter / MFD.

6-4 Distress Relay Individual (INDIV DISTR RELAY)
When an incoming Individual Distress Relay call is received, the alarm sounds and INDIV
DISTR RELAY is displayed.
1. Press SILENC softkey to silence the alarm.
2. Press / keys to view details of the distress call. Details include the user MMSI and
nature of the emergency (if specied), also the time and the location (if specied). If
the location and time are not specied, these are replaced with sequences of 9s and
8s respectively.
3. ALL MODELS: Press ACCEPT softkey to immediately accept the channel change
before the 10s timer expires
4. US MODELS: Press ACK softkey to ACK the call after the 10s delay - for “INDIV REPLY”
options, see section 4-8-3.
5. Press EXIT key to quit current receive DSC process.
