I/O 04 provides dedicated overcurrent/short circuit protection circuitry when operated in the open drain,
switch-to-ground mode. The other I/Os do not have this circuitry therefore I/O 04 is recommended for
applications requiring overcurrent/short circuit protection.
Simplified block diagrams of the I/O when configured as digital inputs, digital outputs, and analog inputs
are shown in the figures below (Figure 10, Figure 11, and Figure 12).
The terminal also supports two dedicated outputs (Output05 and Output06). More information on these
outputs can be found in section 3.4.4.
