IDP-782 - Hardware Guide
3.5.5 USB
The terminal incorporates a USB to 4 port UART bridge chip. Both RS-232 serial ports can be switched
through the bridge to the USB port. The USB port is accessible via a Mini-B connector on the rear of the
terminal. The USB port is full-speed V2.0 (12 Mbps) compliant.
By default both primary and auxiliary serial ports are automatically switched to the USB port on connection
of a USB host. The application card processor however can redirect the serial ports independently to
whichever destination it is programmed.
The electrical characteristics of the interface are:
Parameter Min. Typical Max. Units
Input High Voltage 2.0 - 5.5 V
Input Low Voltage -0.3 - 0.8 V
Output High Voltage 2.8 - 3.6 V
Output Low Voltage 0 - 0.3 V
