Troubleshooting MODIS™ Unit Overheating
MODIS™ Unit Overheating
If the internal temperature of your MODIS™ unit reaches 60 °C/140 °F, it powers off automatically.
Overheating can occur under the following conditions:
Extended use in direct sunlight
Extended use on hot days
Extended use in a closed vehicle
Extended use near a heat source
Forcing the battery pack to charge when the MODIS™ unit is hot
z To handle an over temperature shutoff:
1. Remove the battery pack from your MODIS™ unit.
2. Remove your MODIS™ unit from sunlight or high temperature area.
3. Leave your MODIS™ unit powered off and let it cool down.
Liquid Crystal Display (LCD) Darkening
Exposure to direct sunlight can cause the liquid crystal in your screen to darken. Darkening is a
temporary condition.
z To return the LCD to normal:
1. Remove your MODIS™ unit from the sunlight.
2. Let the screen cool down.
