Measuring Modes
The A2011 can receive basic measuring point data
from the PC (Data logging mode), or via the instru-
ment keys (Manual mode).
Data Logging Mode
To download a work order from the PC, push RIGHT/
LEFT to go to the Select menu (figure 2) and select
COMMUNICATION, then follow the instructions dis-
played by the PC.
Measurement is started from the Data logging menu
(figure 3, 1), which displays measuring point number
and name, and the reading to be taken: TAC, SPM, or
VIB. A star ( * ) before these means that you have
already stored a reading.
The running number of the measurement is shown in
the lower right hand corner. You can leaf through the
list with UP / DOWN and take the readings in any
order, but normally you start with measurement 1 and
work your way through the list. For details, see the
next pages.
Please note: In the Data logging mode,
• you cannot change the input data.
• you cannot leave the menu without taking a new
reading (or confirming the displayed reading with
ENT).
• you cannot use the earphone mode.
• you can have SPM and VIB transducer plus ta-
chometer probe or the earphone connected at
the same time.
Manual Mode
By pressing RIGHT / LEFT, you can go at any time
from the Data logging menu to Bearing test ( 2) and
the Vibrameter menu (3), and take readings which are
not transferred to the PC. From these two menus you
get to the Tachometer menu (4) or the Earphone
menu (5) by connecting tachometer probe or ear-
phone. The last reading taken is always stored (even
through a power down period), and is displayed when
you access the menu.
Please note: In the Manual mode,
• you have to enter the input data.
• you have to write down the measuring results,
because only the latest reading is stored.
• you must disconnect the tachometer probe or
earphone to leave the respective mode.
