COMP 15
Measuring Point Calibration in Manual Mode
The COMP No. is used to calibrate the measuring
point. It does not affect the LR/HR reading but will be
added to the reading when it is evaluated and trans-
lated into condition codes.
In Data logging mode, COMP Nos., if any, are down-
loaded as part of the basic bearing data. They should
be calculated with LUBMASTER, on the basis of both
bearing and lubrication data.
In Manual mode, there is a less accurate short-cut:
one can let the A2011 set a COMP No. before taking
a reading:
Press SET until the cursor is on the COMP no.
Press UP or DOWN until you get a question
mark ( ? ), at one step above and below 0.
Press ENT, then the M key to measure.
The A2011 will compare the measured HR value with
a norm value for the bearing, assuming adequate
lubrication (Kappa = 1), and use the difference as the
COMP No. Thus, one can get both positive and nega-
tive COMP numbers.
Warning:
Do not accept negative COMP number unless
you are sure that the measured bearing is in
good condition!
A warning will be displayed when the calculated COMP
number is very large (+15 and above, -10 and below).
Press any key to clear the warning.
