11 Qi Certification
STWLC38 is Qi 1.3 EPP compatible and can therefore be Qi certified. The following section describes the basic
requirements necessary for Qi EPP certification.
It should be noted that STWLC38 Extended Power Profile (EPP) Qi compatibility guarantees Baseline Power
Profile (BPP) compatibility as EPP is a BPP extension.
The 6 basic steps of the Qi certification process:
1. The registration procedure starts with the product’s manufacturer filling in an on-line form, providing basic
information about the product, uploading its picture and submitting the necessary self-declaration forms. The
manufacturer then selects an Authorized Test Lab (ATL) which will perform the compliance test, as well as
selecting an Interoperability Testing Center (IOC) which will perform the interoperability test.
2. The Logo License Administrator (LLA) verifies whether the form is filled in correctly.
3. The Authorized Test Lab (ATL) performs the mandatory compliance tests described in the test specification
and releases a test report summary.
4. The Interoperability testing Center (IOC) performs the interoperability test.
5. The product manufacturer finalizes description of the product. Uploads a picture, showing the product as it
will be shipped to customers, and provides a type number identifying the product.
6. The Logo License Administrator (LLA) verifies the information is complete and consistent, after which the
product is made visible in the product registration database.
