[] Playback
Before you begin:
Turnonthe amplifier and anyother devicewhich isconnectedto this unit.
Makesurethe external audio receiveraresetto the correctinput mode.
Press [POWER(b] to turn on the unit.

2 Press [OPEN/CLOSE--_].

°The unit switches to the DVD mode when the unit
was in TV mode.
_ Insert a disc with its label side facing up.
/
Align the disc to the
disc tray guide.
• In case the DVD was recorded on both sides, make
sure the side you want to play back is facing up.
_ Press [PLAY I_]. The tray will close and playback will
start.
• If playback does not start automatically, press
[PLAY I_] again.
_ Press [STOP ml] to stop playback temporarily.
. If playback remains stopped for 5 minutes, the screen
saver program will activate automatically,
and in 15 minutes with no activity at the unit, the unit
will turn off when "AUTO POWER OFF" is set to"ON"
(factory default).
6 Press [OPEN/CLOSE --_] to eject the disc.

programs.
. During the playback of a2-layered disc,pictures may stop for
a moment. Thishappens while the 1stlayer is being switched
to the 2rid layer. Thisis not a malfunction.
[] DVD Menu
Somediscscontain discmenuswhich describethe contentsofthe discor
allow youto customizediscplayback,or title menuwhich liststhe titles
available onthe DVD.
Press [DISC MENU] to call up the disc menu, or press
[TITLE] to call up the title menu.
Use [Cursor A / Y / _ / I_] to select an item, then press
[ENTER] (or [PLAY I_]).

. Menu operations may vary depending on the disc.
Referto the manual accompanying the disc for more details.
[] Resume Playback
Press [STOP Ira] during playback.
Resume message will appear on
the TV screen.
Press [PLAY I_]. Playback will
resume from the point at which
playback was stopped.
Note:
. Tocancelresume,press[STOPm] one more time in the stop
mode. Onsomediscs,[STOPm] wfllnot work while the resume
messageappears.Pleasewait until the messagedisappears.
• Theresume information will be kept even when unit isturned
off. However, opening the disc tray will cancel the resume fea-
ture. Playback will start at the beginning the next time you
insert the disc.
[] Pause
Press [PAUSE IIl] during playback.
. Playback will be paused and sound will be
muted.
To continue playback, press [PLAY I_].
