NOTE The harness inertia reels are handed:
- The inertia reel with the GREEN lug is installed on the RH side of the backrest assembly.
- The inertia reel with the RED lug is installed on the LH side of the backrest assembly.
(3) Depress the latch and install each of the inertia reels onto the related spool (875) on the backrest
assembly (350), then release the latch to secure. Make sure:
- Each inertia reel is installed below the anti-rattle spring (part of the backrest assembly (350)).
- The operating cable for each reel is correctly routed, (refer to Fig 1).
- The harness reel webbing is not twisted and is correctly positioned over at the top of the backrest
assembly (350).
(4) Install each of the two web guides (5) over the related harness reel webbing and through the top
beam on the backrest assembly (350). Make sure the webbing stop on each reel webbing is
uppermost and located forward of the web guides.
(5) Install the headrest (40). Make sure the headrest legs go through each of the harness guides (5).
(6) Install a headrest adjust spring (45) in each of the harness guides (5).
(7) Put the negative g strap through the becket on the front of the sitting cushion assembly (65).
(8) Depress the latch and install the crotch strap to the spool (790) on the front of the bucket assembly
(745). Release the latch to secure.
(9) Put each of the harness lap straps through the related becket on the side of the sitting cushion
assembly (65). Make sure the lap strap with the QRB is installed on the LH side of the bucket
assembly (745).
(10) Depress the latch and install each of the two lap straps to the related spool (790) on each side of the
bucket assembly (745). Release the latches to secure.
WARNING
YOU MUST SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT
HEIGHT. THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY HAS TWO GAS SPRINGS AND CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY. YOU CAN BE INJURED IF YOU DO NOT SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY
WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT HEIGHT.
NOTE
To install the guard, the bucket assembly must be fully UP.
(11) If necessary, sit in the seat and operate the raise/lower lever (380) to move the bucket assembly fully
UP.
(12) If necessary, move the harness lock/unlock lever to the down (LOCK) position and disconnect the
ball end of the inertia reel operating cable from the harness lock/unlock lever.
(13) Install each side of the guard (90) to the bucket assembly (745) with a bolt (125), spacer (130) and
nut (135), but do not install the bolt (100), spacer (105) and nut (110) at this stage.
NOTE
If a new guard (90) is being installed, install two new rivets (95).
(14) Put the reel operating cables rearwards through the hole on the LH side of the guard (90).
(15) Install the grommet (30) over the reel operating cables and onto the guard (90).
