WARNING
YOU MUST SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT
HEIGHT. THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY HAS TWO GAS SPRINGS AND CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY. YOU CAN BE INJURED IF YOU DO NOT SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY
WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT HEIGHT.
(1) Do the seat raise and lower check as follows:
(a) Sit in the bucket assembly, operate the raise/lower lever (380) and move the bucket assembly
to the top position.
(b) Operate the raise/lower lever (380) and make sure the vertical locking plungers (505) freely re-
tract.
(c) Operate the raise/lower lever (380) and make sure the bucket assembly moves freely to the fully
lowered position.
(d) Release the raise/lower lever (380) and make sure the bucket assembly locks into the lowered
position.
(e) Operate the raise/lower lever (380) and make sure the bucket assembly moves freely towards
the fully raised position. As the bucket assembly moves to the raised position, release the raise/
lower lever three or four times to make sure the bucket assembly locks into position at different
heights.
(f) Remove some of the weight on the seat and push each of the vertical lock plungers (505) in-
wards compressing the springs (510), then release pressure on the plungers. Make sure:
- The springs resist the inward force.
- When released, the plungers return outwards until they are level with/or just protrude from
each side of the bucket assembly.
(g) Get out of the bucket assembly.
(2) If the vertical locking plungers do not release or engage when the raise/lower lever is operated:
(a) Replace the vertical cable assembly (435), refer to “DISASSEMBLY” on page 301 and “ASSEM-
BLY AND STORAGE” on page 701.
(b) Do step B. (1) again.
