KILL OR CAUSE INJURY.
(c) Release the fore/aft adjustment lever (355), make sure the seat locks in the selected position.
(2) If the floor locking plungers (195) do not release or engage when the fore/aft adjustment lever is
operated:
(a) Replace the fore/aft cable (420), refer to “DISASSEMBLY” on page 301 and “ASSEMBLY AND
STORAGE” on page 701.

(Ref. IPL Fig 1, Sheets 6, 8 and 9)
CAUTION
YOU MUST SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU OPERATE THE RECLINE
MECHANISM. THE RECLINE MECHANISM HAS TWO GAS SPRINGS AND CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY. DAMAGE TO THE SEAT CAN OCCUR IF YOU DO NOT SIT IN THE
BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE RECLINE MECHANISM.
(1) Do the seat recline check as follows:
(a) Sit in the bucket assembly, operate the recline lever (375) and move the backrest assembly
(350) fully forward.
NOTE
During this step, use light hand pressure to move the backrest assembly forward or
rearward as necessary.
(b) Operate the recline lever (375) and make sure the recline locking pins (720) freely retract.
(c) Sit in the bucket assembly and operate the recline lever (375), make sure you can freely recline
the backrest assembly (350) through its range. As you recline the seat, release the lever several
times to make sure the backrest assembly locks into any one of the locking positions.
NOTE
During this step, use light hand pressure to move the backrest assembly forward or
rearward as necessary.
(2) Use light hand pressure to move the backrest assembly (350) forward or rearwards and push each
of the recline locking pins (720) inwards compressing the springs (730). Then release pressure on
the locking pins. Make sure:
- The springs resist the inward force.
- When released, the locking pins return outwards until they are level with/or just protrude from
each side of the bucket assembly (745).
(3) If the recline locking pins (720) do not release or engage when the recline lever (375) is operated:
(a) Replace the recline cable assembly (430), refer to “DISASSEMBLY” on page 301 and “ASSEM-
BLY AND STORAGE” on page 701.
(b) Do step D. (1) again.
