(b) Move each armrest (580) DOWN to the deployed position and UP to the stowed position, make
sure they move freely.
(c) Move the armrests (580) INBOARD, make sure they move freely and the detent pins (630) keep
the armrests in the stowed position.
4. Checks at 500 flight hours or yearly (whichever occurs first)
A. General.
(1) Use an applicable light source and inspection mirror to visually examine the seat assembly.
(2) Remove the seat, refer to “MAINTENANCE OPERATIONS” on page 201.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheet 8)
WARNING
YOU MUST SIT IN THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT
HEIGHT. THE BUCKET ASSEMBLY HAS TWO GAS SPRINGS AND CAN MOVE
SUDDENLY. YOU CAN BE INJURED IF YOU DO NOT SIT IN THE BUCKET
ASSEMBLY WHEN YOU ADJUST THE SEAT HEIGHT.
(a) Sit in the seat and operate the raise/lower lever (380) to move the bucket assembly fully UP.
(3) Remove the following items, refer to “DISASSEMBLY” on page 301.
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheets 1 and 2)
- 5-point harness (10)
- cushion assemblies (55), (60) and (65)
- lumbar support (35)
- cover assembly (140).
(4) Do the checks detailed above in para 3. (before-flight checks).
B. Examine the seat structure.
(1) Visually examine the seat structure, make sure the:
(Ref. IPL Fig. 1, Sheets 10, 12 thru 14)
(a) Seat structure has no signs of corrosion, distortion, scoring or wear.
(b) Following items are securely attached to the lower LH frame (810) and to the lower RH frame
(815) and are not damaged or corroded:
- Middle beam (565).
- Cross beams (820), (855) and (545).
- Cross braces (835).
- Lower frame cover (830).
- Top floor fittings (255) and (320).
(c) Lower LH frame (810) and lower RH frame (815) are not damaged.
(d) Two vertical gas struts (525) are securely attached to the lower LH frame (810) and lower RH
frame (815), and are not damaged or corroded.
(e) Carriage floor (170) has no deformation, corrosion or wear.
