WARNING OBEY THE CONDITIONS THAT FOLLOW OR DAMAGE TO THE HARNESS AND REEL
ASSEMBLY CAN OCCUR. IF THE ASSEMBLY IS DAMAGED, IT CAN CAUSE DEATH
OR INJURY:
-DO NOT CLEAN AN INSTALLED 5-POINT HARNESS
-DO NOT CLEAN THE QRB, INERTIA REEL, OR INERTIA REEL WEBBING
-DO NOT DRY THE HARNESS ASSEMBLY IN THE SUN OR NEAR A RADIATOR.
(1) Remove the 5-point harness, refer to “DISASSEMBLY” on page 301.
CAUTION
WHEN CLEANING THE 5-PONT HARNESS:
- DO NOT ADD ANY SOLVENTS OR CHEMICALS TO THE WATER SUCH AS BLEACH-
ES OR CAUSTIC SOAPS, ETC
- DO NOT USE ACIDS OR BASES
- DO NOT CLEAN THE QRB OR INERTIA REELS ASSEMBLIES
- DO NOT SATURATE THE WEBBING WITH THE SOLUTION
- DO NOT RUB THE FIBRES AGGRESSIVELY WITH THE LINT-FREE CLOTH
- DO NOT EXPOSE THE WET WEBBING TO FREEZING TEMPERATURES (0° C OR
LOWER) AFTER CLEANING
- THE 5-POINT HARNESS WILL BECOME UNSERVICEABLE AND MUST BE RE-
PLACED IF SUBJECTED TO ANY OF THESE CONDITIONS.
(2) Remove contamination from the 5-point harness with a clean lint-free cloth made moist with a mixture
of warm water and soap. Make sure the temperature of the water is not more than 100° F (38° C).
(3) Let the 5-point harness dry.
(4) Install the 5-point harness, refer to “ASSEMBLY AND STORAGE” on page 701.
