The difference between two maps is displayed on the
Differential Map screen.
Two maps to be compared are displayed in A (1) and B (2).
Select the map type (3) to change the type of map to be
displayed.
Click the scale (4) and unit (5) to change properties of
maps A and B.
The difference between maps A and B is displayed in the
differential map (6).
When A-B” is shown (7), the map created by subtracting
map B from map A is displayed.
As an exception, when the map type is Elevation or
Height, the difference is calculated after adjusting the
height data of maps A and B at the middle point.
(This operation is the same as “Height Change” of TMS-
4A.) Click A-B” (7) to change to B-A.Click “Diff(8) to
change the scale of the differential map.
Differential map quantitative index
● ∆AvgK
The difference in AvgK between the two maps displayed
on the screen is shown. The unit is diopter. This is
displayed when the map type is Axial Power.
● Cylinder change
Cylinder change shows the difference of astigmatism
value between two maps. “Induced cylinder” is calculated
by the vector formula of Dr. Norman Jaffee according to
the degree and axial change of astigmatism.
“Induced cylinder” is always a positive value.
For example, this index is useful for calculating the degree
and direction of astigmatism that occurs after cataract
surgery. This is displayed when the map type is Axial
Power.
● Mean Difference
Mean Difference shows the average difference of the two
maps displayed, standard deviation, and the number of
