9.Ifhydraulicttingsaretoberemovedfrompistonpump,marktting
orientationtoallowcorrectassembly.Removettingsfrompumpanddiscard
O-rings.
Installation(Figure101)
1.Ifttingswereremovedfrompistonpump,lubricateandplacenewO-rings
ontottings.Installttingsintopumpportsusingmarksmadeduringthe
removalprocesstoproperlyorientatettings.Tightenttings(seeInstalling
theHydraulicFittings(SAEStraightThreadO-RingFittings)(page5–9)).
IMPORTANT
Topreventspringcouplerdamage,makesurethatpistonpumpis
properlysupportedanddoesnotputsideloadintocouplerduring
pumpinstallation.
2.Carefullyraisepistonpumpintothemachine,alignpumpinputshafttospring
coupleronengineandpositionittotheengineywheelplate.Supportpump
topreventitfromproducinganysideloadintocouplerandalsotoalignpilot
diameterofpumptoywheelplatebore.
3.Whilemaintainingpumpalignmentwithspringcouplerandywheelplate,
installtwo(2)capscrewsandwasherstosecurepistonpumptoengine.
IMPORTANT
Acasedrainexistsinthepiston(traction)pumpandasuctionport
isneartheinputshaftofthegearpump(Figure103).Beforethegear
pumpisinstalledtothepistonpump,makesurethatplugsplacedin
bothoftheseportsareremoved.Failuretoremoveplugswillcause
excessivepressureinthepistonpumpanddamageseals.Also,
beforesecuringgearpumptopistonpump,llpistonpumphousing
withcleanhydraulicoilthroughcasedrainhole.
4.Removeplugsthatwereplacedinpistonpumpcasedrainandgearpump
suctionport.Fillpistonpumphousingwithnewhydraulicoilthroughcase
drainhole.
