Afrontplanetarydriveassemblythatisproperlyoperatingshouldhaveno
endplay.Anyendplayinaplanetaryassemblyindicatesthattherearepotential
problemswiththeplanetary.Checkplanetaryendplayatintervalsspeciedin
yourOperator’sManual.
EndplayCheckingProcedure
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengineand
removekeyfromtheignitionswitch.

CAUTION
Whenraisingandsupportingmachine,usecorrectjacksand
supports.Makesuremachineisparkedonasolid,levelsurface
suchasaconcreteoor.Priortoraisingmachine,removeany
attachmentsthatmayinterferewiththesafeandproperraisingof
themachine.Alwayschockorblockwheels.Usejackstandsto
supporttheraisedmachine.Ifthemachineisnotproperlysupported
byjackstands,themachinemaymoveorfall,whichmayresultin
personalinjury.
2.Chockrearwheelsandjackupfrontofmachine(seeJackingInstructions
(page1–7)).Supportmachinewithjackstands.
3.Graspfrontwheelandcheckforendplayintheplanetaryassemblyas
indicatedbyaxialwheelmovement.Makesurethatthereisnoendplay
inassembly.
4.Ifanyendplayisdetected,theplanetaryshouldbedisassembled,inspected
andservicedasnecessary(seePlanetaryDriveAssembly(page7–8)).
5.Afterplanetaryendplaycheckingiscompleted,lowermachinetoground.
