fusiblelinksarelocatedinaharnessthatconnectsthestarterB+terminalto
thewireharness(Figure188).Ifeitheroftheselinksshouldfail,currenttothe
protectedcircuitswillcease.RefertoAppendixA(pageA–1)forwireharness
drawingsforadditionalfusiblelinkinformation.
Testing
MakesurethatignitionswitchisOFF .Disconnectnegativebatterycablefrom
batteryterminalandthendisconnectpositivecablefrombattery(seeBattery
Service(page6–71)).Locateandunplugfusiblelinkconnectorfrommachine
wireharness.Useamultimetertomakesurethatcontinuityexistsbetweenthe
fusiblelinkterminals.Ifeitherfusiblelinkisopen,replacethefusiblelinkharness.
Note:Itisnotrecommendedtoreplaceindividualfusiblelinkconductorsof
thefusiblelinkharness.Ifanyoftheharnesslinksareopen(failed),replace
theentirefusiblelinkharness.
Afterfusiblelinktestingiscomplete,makesurethatfusiblelinkharnessis
securelyattachedtostarterB+terminalandwireharness.Connectpositive
batterycabletobatteryterminalrstandthenconnectnegativecabletobattery.
