Note:Beforedisconnectingthedeckpositionswitchfortesting,theswitchand
itscircuitwiringshouldbetestedasaTECelectricalinputusingtheInfoCenter
Display(seeInfoCenterDisplay(page6–8)).Ifinputtestingveriesthatthedeck
positionswitchandcircuitwiringarefunctioningcorrectly,nofurtherposition
switchtestingisnecessary.If,however,inputtestingdeterminesthatthedeck
positionswitchandcircuitwiringarenotfunctioningcorrectly,proceedwiththe
followingdeckpositionswitchtestingprocedure.
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,engageparkingbrake
andstopengine.Removekeyfromignitionswitch.
2.Disconnectdeckpositionswitchthatrequirestestingfrommachinewire
harness.
3.Checkthecontinuityoftheswitchbyconnectingamultimeter(ohmssetting)
acrosstheswitchconnectorterminals.
4.Withthecuttingdeckintheloweredposition,thereshouldbecontinuity
acrosstheswitchterminals.
5.Raisethecuttingdeck.Thereshouldbenocontinuityacrosstheswitch
terminals.
6.Replacepositionswitchiftestingdeterminesthatitisfaulty.
7.Aftertestingiscomplete,connectwireharnesselectricalconnectortothe
positionswitch.
SwitchAdjustment
Adjustswitchtohave1.6mm(1/16in)clearancebetweenswitchandsensing
plateontheliftarm.
