CAUTION
Whenremovingfrontwheel,usecorrectjacksandsupports.Make
suremachineisparkedonasolid,levelsurfacesuchasaconcrete
oor.Priortoraisingmachine,removeanyattachmentsthatmay
interferewiththesafeandproperraisingofthemachine.Always
chockorblockwheels.Usejackstandstosupporttheraised
machine.Ifthemachineisnotproperlysupportedbyjackstands,
themachinemaymoveorfall,whichmayresultinpersonalinjury.
3.Chockrearwheelsandjackupfrontofmachine(seeJackingInstructions
(page1–7)).Supportmachinewithjackstands.
4.Removefrontwheelassembly.
5.Supportwheelmotorandbrakeassemblytopreventthemfromshifting
duringplanetaryremoval.
Note:Thewheelmotorandbrakeassemblyfastenersthreadintothe
planetaryhousing,andmustberemovedpriortoremovingtheplanetary
drivefromthemachine.
6.Removehydraulicwheelmotorfasteners.
7.Removebrakeassemblyfasteners.
8.Supportplanetaryassemblytopreventitfromfalling.Loosenandremovesix
(6)angeheadscrewsthatsecureplanetaryassemblytoframe.Remove
planetaryassemblyfrommachine.
9.Removeanddiscardgasket(item12).Makesurethatallgasketmaterialand
sealantisremovedfromboththebrakeandtheplanetaryassembly.
Installation(Figure235)
1.Positionplanetaryassemblytomachinemakingsuretoengagesplined
brakeshaftwithplanetarydriveshaft.Secureplanetaryassemblytoframe
withsix(6)angeheadscrews.T orquetightenscrewsfrom101to115N·m
(75to85ft−lb).
2.Applygasketsealant(Loctite#2orequivalent)tosealingsurfacesofnew
gasket(item12).Aligngasketandsecurebrakeassemblytoplanetary(see
BrakeAssembly(page7–4)).T orquetightenscrewsfrom101to115N·m
(75to85ft−lb).
3.MakesurewheelmotorO−ring(item4)isinpositionandsecurewheelmotor
toplanetarywithtwo(2)capscrewsandatwashers.T orquetightenscrews
from101to115N·m(75to85ft−lb).
4.Installfrontwheelassembly.
5.Fillplanetarydrivewithgearlube;refertotractionunitOperator’sManual.A
portionofthegearlubewillpassintothebrakeassemblyautomatically.
6.Checkandadjustthebrakecablesforproperbrakeoperation.
