area.Alwaysllfueltankoutsideandwipeupanyspilleddieselfuel
beforestartingtheengine.Storefuelinaclean,safety−approved
containerandkeepcapinplace.Usedieselfuelfortheengineonly;
notforanyotherpurpose.
CheckFuelLinesandConnections
CheckfuellinesandconnectionsperiodicallyasrecommendedintheOperator’s
Manual.Checklinesfordeterioration,damage,leakingorlooseconnections.
Replacehoses,clampsandconnectionsasnecessary.
DrainandCleanFuelTank
EmptyandcleanthefueltankperiodicallyasrecommendedintheOperator’s
Manual,ifthefuelsystembecomescontaminatedorifthemachineistobe
storedforanextendedperiod.
IMPORTANT
Followalllocalcodesandregulationswhenrecyclingordisposing
wastefuel.
Tocleanfueltank,ushtankoutwithcleandieselfuel.Makesuretankisfree
ofcontaminatesanddebris.
PrimingtheFuelSystem
Thefuelsystemneedstobeprimedbeforestartingtheengineforthersttime,
afterrunningoutoffuelorafterfuelsystemmaintenance(e.g.drainingthe
lter/waterseparator,replacingafuelhose).
IMPORTANT
DonotturnthekeyswitchtotheSTARTpositiontoprimethefuel
system.
Toprimethefuelsystem:
1.Enurethatthefueltankhasfuelinit.
2.Allowtheelectricfuelpumptoprimethefuelsystembyturningthekey
switchtotheRUNpositionfor10to15seconds.Cyclethekeyswitchand
repeatifnecessary.
FuelTankRemoval(Figure14)
1.Parkmachineonalevelsurface,lowercuttingdecks,stopengine,engage
parkingbrakeandremovekeyfromtheignitionswitch.
2.Forassemblypurposes,labelfuelhosesatsuctionandreturnttingsintop
oftank.Disconnectfuelhosesfromttings.
3.Usedraincocktoemptyfueltankintoasuitablecontainer.
