servicing,cleaning,orstoringit.
•Donotstorethemachineorfuelcontainerwhere
thereisanopename,spark,orpilotlight,such
asonawaterheaterorotherappliance.

Chargingthebatteryproducesgassesthat
canexplode.
Neversmokenearthebatteryandkeepsparks
andamesawayfromit.
1.Preparethemachineformaintenancereferto

2.Disconnectthespark-plugwire.
3.Removegrass,dirt,andgrimefromtheexternal
partsoftheentiremachine,especiallythe
engineandthehydraulicsystem.Cleandirtand
chafffromtheoutsideofthecylinder-headns
oftheengineandblowerhousing.
4.Servicetheaircleaner;refertoServicingtheAir
Cleaner(page71).
5.Changetheengineoil;refertoChangingthe
EngineOilandFilter(page73).
6.Changethehydraulicltersanduid,referto
ChangingtheHydraulicFluidandFilters(page
82).
7.Checkthetirepressure;refertoCheckingthe

Ifyouarestoringthemachinefortheseason,Perform
allthestepsinStoringtheMachineforlessthan30
days(page85)andthefollowing:

PreparingtheChassis
1.Checkandtightenallbolts,nuts,andscrews.
Repairorreplaceanypartthatisdamagedor
worn.
2.Washanddrytheentiremachine.Removethe
tines,andcleanandoilthem.Spraylightoil
mistoncoringheadbearings(crankanddamper
links).
Important:Youcanwashthemachine
withmilddetergentandwater.Donot
pressure-washthemachine.Avoid
excessiveuseofwater,especiallynearthe
controlpanel,engine,hydraulicpumps,and
motors.
Note:Runthemachinewiththeengineathigh
idlefor2to5minutesafterwashing.
3.Paintallscratchedorbaremetalsurfaces.
Paintisavailablefromyourauthorizedthe
manufacturerdistributor.
4.Secureservicelatchifthemachineistobe
storedformorethanacoupleofdays.
5.Storethemachineinaclean,drygarageor
storagearea.Removethekeyfromtheignition
switchandkeepitoutofreachofchildrenor
otherunauthorizedusers.
6.Coverthemachinetoprotectitandkeepitclean.

1.Addapetroleum-basedstabilizer/conditioner
tofuelinthetank.Followmixinginstructions
fromstabilizermanufacture.Donotuse
analcohol-basedstabilizer(ethanolor
methanol).
Note:Afuelstabilizer/conditionerismost
effectivewhenmixedwithfreshfuelandis
alwaysused.
Important:Donotstorefuelcontaining
stabilizer/conditionerlongerthanthe
durationrecommendedbythefuel-stabilizer
manufacturer.
