Thefunctionofthefuelevaporativecontrolsystemistocollectandstore
evaporativeemissionsfromthefueltankandengine.Acarboncanisterthat
ismountedtotheleftsideoftheframeneartherearofthemachineisused
tocollecttheseevaporativeemissions.Fuelvaporsfromtheengineandfuel
tankareventedtothecanisterwhentheengineisnotrunning.Vaporsfromthe
canisterareconsumedwhentheengineisrunning.
Note:Ifthereisrestrictioninthecanisterbreather,thecarboncanisterorthe
vacuumcontrolvalve,thefueltankmaydistortduetoventingissues.Ifthefuel
tankreturnstoit’snormalshapewhenthefuelcapisremoved,restrictioninthe
evaporativecontrolsystemislikely.
