screwtool(referto(page)).Discardthescrews.Removethebedknifefrom
thebedbar(Figure333).

InstallingtheBedknife
1.Useascrapertoremoveallrust,scaleandcorrosionfromthebedbar
surface.Lightlyoilthebedbarsurfacebeforeinstallingthebedknife.
2.Ensurethatthescrewthreadsinthebedbar(5/16-18UNC-2A)areclean.
IMPORTANT
Donotuseanimpactwrenchtotightenthescrewsintothebedbar.
3.Usenewscrewstosecurebedknifetobedbar.Applyanti-seizelubricantto
thethreadsofnewscrews.Donotapplyanti-seizelubricanttothetaper
ofthescrewheads.
4.Installallscrewsbutdonottighten.
