Anumberofelectricalrelaysthathave4terminalsareusedinthemachine
electricalsystem.Atagnearthewireharnessrelayconnectorcanbeused
toidentifyeachrelay.
Themainpowerrelayisusedtoprovidecurrenttotheoperatorseat,InfoCenter,
TEC,headlights,powerpoint,andoptionalelectricequipment.Whenthekey
switchisintheRUNorSTARTposition,themainpowerrelayisenergized.
TheglowrelayisusedonmachineswithaKubotaorYanmardieselengineto
providecurrenttotheengineglowplugs.OnmachineswithaKubotadiesel
engine,theglowrelayisenergizedbytheTEC.Theglowrelayisenergizedby
theengineECUonmachineswithaYanmardieselengine.
Themainpowerandglowrelayareattachedtoaframebracketunderthehood
nexttothehydraulicpumpdriveshaft(Figure256).
Note:AfaultcodemaybedisplayedontheInfoCenterdisplayifthemainpower
relay,glowrelayorcircuitwiringisdamaged.
TestingtheRelayswith4Terminals
1.Parkthemachineonalevelsurface,lowerthecuttingunits,shutoffthe
engine,settheparkingbrake,andremovethekeyfromthekeyswitch.
2.Openthehoodtogetaccesstotherelays.Removethehoodsaddlefrom
themachineforeasieraccesstorelay.
3.Toensurethatthemachineoperationdoesnotoccurunexpectedly,
disconnectthenegative(-)cablefromthebatteryandthendisconnectthe
