AssemblingtheSteeringCylinder(continued)
4.Useawrenchontheshaftatstopreventtheshaftfromrotating,securethe
pistonwiththelocknut.T orquethelocknutto54N∙m(40ft-lb).
IMPORTANT
Whenyouclampthesteeringcylinderinavise,clamptheclevisend
ofthebarrelonlytopreventdamage.
5.Mountthebarrelinavisebyclampingontheclevisendofthebarrel.
IMPORTANT
Wheninstallingtheheadintothebarrel,paycarefulattentiontothe
retainingringslotinthebarreltoensurethatthepistonandhead
sealsdonotlodgeintheslot.
6.Putalightcoatingofcleanhydraulicuidonallinternalparts.Carefullyslide
thepiston,shaft,andheadassemblyintothebarrel.
Note:Donotdamagethesealsduringassembly.
7.Securetheheadinthebarrelwiththeretainingringasfollows:
A.Aligntheretainingringholeintheheadwiththeaccessslotinthebarrel.
B.Inserttheretainingringhookintotheholeandrotatetheheadclockwise
untiltheretainingringiscompletelypulledintothebarrelandthering
endsarecovered.
C.Applysiliconesealertothebarrelaccessslot.
