TestingtheFusibleLinkHarness
1.EnsurethatthekeyswitchisintheOFFposition,disconnectthenegative
batterycablefromthebatteryterminal,andthendisconnectthepositive
cablefromthebattery;refertoServicingtheBattery(page7–125).
2.LocateandunplugthefusiblelinkconnectorP1fromthemainwireharness.
3.Useamultimetertoensurethatthecontinuityexistsbetweeneachterminal
pinintheconnectorP1andconnectorJ1atthestarter(Figure228).
4.Ifanyofthefusiblelinksareopen,replacethefusiblelinkharness.
Note:Donotreplaceindividualfusiblelinkconductorsofthefusiblelink
harness.Ifanyoftheharnesslinksareopen(failed),replacetheentire
fusiblelinkharness.
5.Afteryoucompletethetesting,ensurethatthefusiblelinkharnessconnectors
arecorrectlyattachedtothestarterandmainwireharness.Connectthe
positivebatterycabletothebatteryterminalandthenconnectthenegative
cabletothebattery.
