allmovingpartstostopbeforecheckingtheoilor
addingoiltothecrankcase.
Keepyourhands,feet,face,clothing,andother
bodypartsawayfromthemuferandotherhot
surfaces.
ServicingtheAirFilter
ServiceInterval:Every25hours—Removethe
air-cleanercoverandcleanoutthe
debris.
Every100hours—Changetheair-cleanerlter
(morefrequentlyindustyordirtyconditions).
Inspecttheairlterandhosesperiodicallytomaintain
maximumengineprotectionandtoensuremaximum
servicelife.Checktheair-ltercoverandhousingfor
damage,whichcouldcauseanairleak.Replaceany
damagedair-ltercomponents.

covercounterclockwise(Figure40).

accumulationsofdebrispackedbetweenthe
outsideoftheairlterandtheair-lterhousing.
Important:Avoidusinghigh-pressureair,
whichcouldforcedirtthroughthelter
intotheintaketract.Thiscleaningprocess
preventsdebrisfrommigratingintothe
intakewhentheprimarylterisremoved.
