5.1 Service Interface
The AN712 module interfaces user applications using communication FB (function
block), table transfer and table initialize instructions.
Figure 5-1 is a diagrammatic representation of it.

Message transmission to and from the station on the ADMAP-5M is conducted by socket
communication corresponding to UDP/IP, using communication FB instruction. Socket
communication corresponding to UDP/IP is also applied to registering transmission
blocks for scan transmission and setting scan transmission cycles using communication
FB instruction. The leading part of the UDP/IP frame for socket communication has a
header indicating the direction of AN712 module service and information exchange. This
header directs message transmission to and from the stations on the ADMAP-5M, or
identifies scan transmission block and transmission cycle registration instructions for the
712 module itself.
