ENGINE (IGNITI ON) SWITCH, TRANSMISSI ON AND PARKING BRAKE
The “AUTO LSD” function ai ds traction
by using the tracti on cont rol syst em t o
control engine perf ormance and braking
when either of the front wheels begi ns
to spin.
This function should be used only when
wheel spinning occurs i n a dit ch or
rough surface.
This funct ion is effect ive when either of
the front wheels i s spinni ng.
NOTICE
Do not use the “AUTO LSD” functi on
in conditi ons other than the above. A
much greater steer ing effort and more
careful corn ering control wi ll be r e-
quired.
To tur n on t he f unction: Br iefly push
the VSC OFF swit ch.
The “AUTO LSD” and VSC OFF indic ator
lights w ill come on and remai n on and
“TRC OFF” wil l appear on the mult i−infor-
mation dis play while the f uncti on is on.
While the func tion is operat ing, the slip
indic ator light wi ll also fl ash.
To turn off: Briefly push the VSC OFF
switch again and the “AUTO LSD” and
VSC OFF i ndicator light s will go off
and “TRC OFF” will disappear.
The br ake actuat or temperat ure increas es
during the oper ation of t he “AUTO LSD”
funct ion under c onditi ons suc h as on s lip-
pery roads .
If the brake actuator t emperatur e bec omes
too high whil e t he “AUTO LSD” func tion is
operati ng, a buz zer wi ll sound to indi cate
that the “AUTO LSD” func tion c an no lon-
ger operate. At thi s t ime, the sli p indic ator
light comes on and t he “AUTO LSD” func-
tion temporar ily stops operati ng in or der to
protec t the brak e actuat or. ( Although the
“AUTO LSD” functi on does not operat e, it
is not a pr oblem to c ontinue driv ing.) The
funct ion is automati call y rest arted after a
short t ime and the sl ip i ndicat or li ght goes
off.
