Depending on the radio w ave r ecepti on
condit ions, it may be detec ted by the
antenna out side the cabi n and the door
will become loc kable fr om the outsi de,
possi bly t rapping t he electr onic key i n-
side the vehi cle.
STARTING THE ENGI NE WHEN THE
ELECTRONIC KEY DOES NOT OPERATE
PROPERLY
The engi ne c an be star ted or the
“ENGINE START STOP” swi tch mode can
be changed by fol lowing pr ocedure.
1. Whi le the brak e pedal i s depres sed,
touch the Toy ota logo si de of the elec-
tronic key to the “ENGINE START
STOP” switch.
2. To star t t he engine: Wi thin 5 s econds
after the buzz er sounds and the
“ENGINE START STOP” swit ch i ndica-
tor turns green, press the s witc h whil e
depress ing t he brak e pedal.
To c hange the “ENGINE START STOP”
swit ch mode: W ithin 5 s econds after
the buzz er sounds and the “ENGINE
START STOP” s witc h i ndicator t urns
green, r elease the br ake pedal and
press the sw itch. The mode will be
changed i n the order of ACCESSORY
mode, IGNITION ON mode and OFF.
If 5 s econds or more have el apsed aft er
the “ENGINE START STOP” swit ch indic a-
tor turns gr een, t he indi cator will go off .
The engine c annot be s tart ed in thi s stat e.
Repeat the proc edure from t he beginning.
To stop t he engine, pus h the “ ENGINE
START STOP” switc h normally.
