• Do not operate this machine or carry out any lubrication, maintenance or repair work without first
carefully reading the information on operation, lubrication, maintenance and repair.
• Read and understand the SAFETY INSTRUCTION chapter before you perform any maintenance, service,
or repairs.
• Carefully read the specific maintenance procedures for the components on which you will be working
before carrying out machine maintenance.
When assembling, operating, or servicing the machine, wear protective clothing and the Personal
Protective Equipment (PPE) that is required for the particular procedure. The required PPE includes:
• Protective shoes.
• Eye/face protection.
• Hard hat.
• Protective gloves.
• Filter mask.
• Ear protection.
When maintenance must be carried out at high altitude:
• Properly use the machine steps, the ladder and/or the hand holds.
• Do not get on machine surfaces that are not designed to be used as steps or platforms.
• Where necessary, use a suitable ladder to reach certain parts such as mirrors, rotating beacons or air
filters.
• Never use the steps, ladder and/or hand holds while the machine is moving.
• Do not use the machine as a lift, ladder, or platform for working at heights.
If a maintenance procedure is not clear or if you have doubts regarding your ability to correctly perform a
maintenance procedure, contact an authorized dealer.
Unauthorized modifications to the machine can have serious consequences. Contact an authorized dealer
for any variations, additions or changes that the machine may require. Do not make any unauthorized
modifications.
I - Hydraulic hoses
Check hydraulic hoses periodically. Refer to the Maintenance chapter for general precautions to take during
checks. The operator does not need to carry out any maintenance on the hoses. Always contact your
dealer to repair or replace hydraulic hoses.
K - Machine towing
Towing incorrectly can cause accidents. When towing a machine, follow the procedure described in this
manual.
K - Using jack sockets
Only connect the machine to the connection points listed in this manual.
L - Batteries and fuel tank
Please refer to the part of manual for battery maintenance operations and for instructions on refuelling the
machine.
When working on the machine batteries, take the following precautions:
To prevent an explosion:
• Always disconnect the negative cable (-) of the battery first.
• Always connect the negative cable (-) of the battery last.
• Do not short circuit the battery posts with metal objects.
• Do not weld, grind or smoke near the battery.
