UPS via a twisted/shielded cable not exceeding 20 m in length. The switch must be "CLOSED" under
normal operating conditions. When this contact opens, the load will be cut off and a fault will appear on
the display. To resume normal operation, the operator should turn EPO button to CLOSED position, reset
the fault on the display and turn on the UPS. If this button is not installed, two jumpers lead must be
connected between pins 1 and 2and between pins 3 and 4.
For an indication of EPO status, connect pins 5, 6 and 7 to an external supervision system.
To ensure compliance of the wiring installation with European Harmonized Document HD384-4-46 S1,
an Emergency Switching Device (ESD) must be installed after the UPS.
Note1: this device Is equipped with a double Input EPO connector. Over customer request the input
function can be changed between AND function and OR function. If the selection is AND, the EPO
condition will enter only when both inputs are active (open contacts). In this case if any wiring fault
occurs this won’t cause any EPO. On the other hand, when a short circuit occurs over one of the two lines
the EPO will not work as expected because the current will keep on flowing into the short circuit. This
selection is preferred when the load power have priority against the EPO effective function. In case of
emergency other devices will act and insulate the load if required. When the customer selects the OR
function, UPS will enter EPO condition when one of the two inputs (or both) will activate. This happens
when one of the two lines is in short circuit and the other is functioning properly. This setting brings the
UPS operating in a similar condition like the old style EPO does with additional wires analysis. Read
