Page 124 Installation Manual - 10H52243IM60 - rev. 7 - 06/2020
The Modbus protocol enables the master unit to communicate with the slave units (connected in the
network). Communication is always initiated by the master, which sends a request frame to which only
the addressed slave will reply. The master can read one or more words within the
address range of Liebert Trinergy™ Cube.
Liebert Trinergy™ Cube acts as slave within the customer network.
For installations and operations please consult the Modbus User Manual.
6.4. BATTERY CABINETS (Empty battery compartment)
These compartments consist of:
• Compartment
• Disconnecting device
• Safety panel
• Connection terminals
6.5. RBI (Remote Battery Interface)
The RBI option allows remote monitoring of battery temperature and the condition of external battery
switches or fuses. The data transmission takes place via a digital line that covers distances of up to
500m. This technology enables the connection of up to 20 different devices.
In the standard system each I/O BOX will be supplied with one RBI device. It must be installed close to
the battery and then connected to the dedicated connector in the I/O BOX.
However, with a distributed battery system each battery can be monitored by an RBI device.
Each RBI must be matched with the corresponding CORE. During installation the RBI option must be
programmed with the proper address by means of dip switches located on the front panel.
All the RBI options are connected to the I/O BOX with an Ethernet patch cable as standard
EIA/TIA T568A in daisy chain configuration.
The RJ45 cable length is 30m.
